  27. I have the Opal main board and all the associated software (I haven't
  28. seen, touched, used, smelled or in any other way fondled any of
  29. the Opal add-on modules, which are all sposed to be out starting
  30. in June), however the main board comes with 11 disks of software and
  31. a few of the included programs are for compressing 8, 12, 15, 21 or
  32. 24 bit files together to make animations for playback on the Opal
  33. display.  This works quite well and I've made quite a few of them,
  34. but they end up as multi-megabytes so I haven't uploaded any
  35. anywhere (yet).

  37. Michael Van Elst of Germany has written an MPEG player which can
  38. display as it plays on OpalVision and the next version has the
  39. capability to save off 15 or 24 bit frames as it plays. He gave
  40. me this version to text and I've made a few 15 and 24 bit Opalanims
  41. out of MPEG video streams and they do indeed play back in "realtime".
  42. Sometimes they play TOO fast requiring me to slow them down in PlayAnim24.
  43. So in other words, unless we're getting our lines crossed here,
  44. Opal has this capability right now, without the video suite add on.
